How do I apply for admission to SEMASHUR?
Selection for fully residential schools is handled entirely by the Ministry of Education's BPSBPSK division. SEMASHUR does not select, rank, interview, or hold its own intake quota. Contacting the school cannot influence placement. Applications are made online through the ministry's Sistem Permohonan Sekolah Khusus — spskt1.moe.gov.my for Form 1 and spskt4.moe.gov.my for Form 4 — and the student must sit the PKSK assessment. The school becomes involved only after an offer is accepted, for registration and reporting. The Admissions page explains each step.

SEMASHUR is a government fully residential school. Under the free-education policy there is no tuition fee for citizen students, and the government covers boarding and most of the cost of hostel meals. The list below explains what is actually collected. The hostel meal fee (YMA) is collected per day the student is in the hostel: RM3.00 a day for households earning RM5,000 and above, and RM1.00 a day for RM4,999 and below, with exemptions for low-income families. Amounts the school sets itself — the PIBG contribution, the co-operative, uniforms — can only be confirmed by the school office.
