The Sinergi Madani SPM Programme at the Hulu Selangor district level is being held at Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor from 21 to 23 August 2026. 📚

Organised by the Malaysian Principals Council, Hulu Selangor Branch, together with the District Education Office and the Hulu Selangor District Counselling Teachers Council, the programme brings together 17 schools — the district's SPM candidates gathered under one roof.

The focus is clear: strengthen students in exam answering techniques, lift motivation, and build thorough preparation for the coming SPM examination. The three-day schedule is dense — slots for History, Mathematics, Malay, English and Additional Mathematics/Science are interspersed with a "Know Yourself" motivation slot, moral activities, interactive programmes and self-management sessions.

Tuesday, 18 August 2026. After weeks of facing exam papers, SEMASHUR's Form 5 students walked out of the hall and into Zoo Negara for the Form 5 Team Building programme: Zoomazing Race – The Leadership Quest. 🦁

The aim was twofold: build team spirit and leadership skills, while giving students a mental break after the recent SPM trial examination.

Students were split into groups and handed a range of tasks through a challenging and enjoyable Explorace. Each group had to complete assignments at several locations across Zoo Negara — calling for communication, planning, problem-solving, delegation and collective decision-making.

Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor (SEMASHUR) successfully ran a Resume Writing, Grooming and Mock Interview Workshop for Form 5 students on 14 August 2026 (Friday), from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm at Dewan Titiwangsa. It was organised by the Form 5 Excellence Programme Committee. 💼

The first slot — Talk: Grooming Tips, How to Win Your Scholarship Interview — focused on self-presentation, dress etiquette and confidence when attending a scholarship interview. Even the small things were broken down: how to enter the room, how to stand, how to greet the panel.

The second slot took students into the Effective Resume Writing Workshop, where they learned to structure and write a professional, high-impact resume capable of catching the eye of a prospective employer or interview panel.

🏆 First place. SM Sains Hulu Selangor's Choral Speaking team claimed the championship at the Semarak Perpaduan Carnival (English) – District-Level Choral Speaking Competition for Hulu Selangor 2026, held online on 24 July 2026.

Choral speaking is not merely speaking in unison. It demands vocal coordination, tonal control, group movement and a shared emotional reading — all of it landing on exactly the same beat.

This success is the fruit of the commitment, creativity, teamwork and continuous practice the participants poured into delivering a compelling and deeply felt performance.

Friday, 17 July 2026. From 8.30 am to 12.30 pm, Dewan Titiwangsa filled up with not only Form 4 students, but also parents and guardians who came specifically for one important conversation. 👨‍👩‍👧

The objectives were clear: deliver feedback on current academic performance based on completed examinations and assessments, establish effective two-way communication, identify each student's strengths and weaknesses, and plan suitable intervention strategies.

Throughout the programme, parents were able to speak directly with subject teachers — not merely reading marks, but understanding their child's learning attitude, mastery of each subject, and the improvements that could be made at home and at school. Teachers also shared learning strategies matched to each student.

A wreath of prayers goes out to the students of SM Sains Hulu Selangor sitting the International Language Achievement Test (UPBA) for Communicative Chinese and Japanese. 🌏

A foreign language is not a subject you can catch up on overnight. It is built on repeated drills, pronunciation corrected time and again, and the courage to speak even when it isn't yet perfect.

On 6-10 July 2026, the girls' basketball team of Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor (SEMASHUR) brought honour to the school by being crowned Champions of the National Fully-Residential Schools (SBP) Basketball Championship 2026. The title was sealed after the squad defeated Sekolah Seri Puteri (SSP) 57-49 in the final held at Arena Karisma on 10 July 2026.

Throughout the tournament, SEMASHUR delivered consistent performances and kept an unbeaten record. The campaign opened with a 43-18 win over Kolej Tunku Kurshiah (TKC), followed by a 29-24 win over Sekolah Seri Puteri (SESERI). On the second day, SEMASHUR overcame Sekolah Menengah Sains Muar (SESMA) 36-10 before beating IKUPS 51-14, topping the group and qualifying for the semi-finals.

In the semi-final on 9 July 2026, SEMASHUR defeated Sekolah Tun Fatimah (STF) 48-32 to confirm their place in the final. SSP started the final in a more organised fashion and led early on through tidy defence and effective attacking play.

The 2nd Form 5 Academic Dialogue Session was held on 10 July 2026, involving the participation of parents, subject teachers and school administrators.

The session was organised to discuss the academic performance of Form 5 students and to strengthen cooperation between the school and parents in the effort to raise student excellence. It also fostered two-way communication so that any learning difficulties could be identified and addressed with intervention.

The session opened with a briefing by En. Nor Suhaime bin Sukirman, the school's Senior Assistant. He presented the students' overall achievement and performance by subject, and identified strengths and weaknesses that need attention.

Friday morning, 10 July 2026 — the School Resource Centre became a different kind of classroom. From 8.00 am to 12.30 pm, Form 4 students sat down not to memorise facts, but to learn how to learn. 📖

The move into upper secondary is no small shift. The format of learning changes, the syllabus gets harder, and early preparation for SPM starts now. The speaker opened with a foundational message: a positive attitude and solid study skills are the base for everything else.

The first slot focused on the High-Achiever Mindset — setting goals, building self-discipline and fixing a firm resolve to succeed. The second slot got practical: note-taking methods, memory techniques, active learning, mind maps, revision techniques and exam answering strategies.

On 9 July 2026, 80 Year 6 pupils from Sekolah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Presint 9(1) along with 10 accompanying teachers made a learning visit to SM Sains Hulu Selangor.

The programme opened with a briefing delivered by SEMASHUR's Senior Assistant for Student Affairs (PK HEM), Ustaz Mohd Fauzi bin Abdul Mutalib. The briefing gave the pupils an early introduction to the school's background, its learning system and life as a fully-residential school student.

The participants then watched the school's corporate video for a clearer picture of SEMASHUR's facilities and achievements. The programme continued with a "Jom Masuk SBP" sharing session run by the Peer Guides (PRS).

Congratulations to the SEMASHUR community! On 8 July 2026 (Wednesday), our school representatives took part in the Hulu Selangor District Poetry Recitation, held online via Google Meet.

Two participants flew the school's flag on this virtual stage: Hasya Insyirah binti Hamzah from class 3 Amal and Rabbiatul Sofiea bt. Mohd Rafaie.

Through their effort and convincing performances, SEMASHUR emerged as Champion of the competition. The achievement was made even sweeter when Hasya Insyirah binti Hamzah was also named the recipient of the Best Impromptu Award.
