SEMASHUR Crowned Champions of the National SBP Basketball Championship 2026

Unbeaten all the way, SEMASHUR's girls' squad brings home the national crown! πŸ€

On 6-10 July 2026, the girls' basketball team of Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor (SEMASHUR) brought honour to the school by being crowned Champions of the National Fully-Residential Schools (SBP) Basketball Championship 2026. The title was sealed after the squad defeated Sekolah Seri Puteri (SSP) 57-49 in the final held at Arena Karisma on 10 July 2026.

Throughout the tournament, SEMASHUR delivered consistent performances and kept an unbeaten record. The campaign opened with a 43-18 win over Kolej Tunku Kurshiah (TKC), followed by a 29-24 win over Sekolah Seri Puteri (SESERI). On the second day, SEMASHUR overcame Sekolah Menengah Sains Muar (SESMA) 36-10 before beating IKUPS 51-14, topping the group and qualifying for the semi-finals.

In the semi-final on 9 July 2026, SEMASHUR defeated Sekolah Tun Fatimah (STF) 48-32 to confirm their place in the final. SSP started the final in a more organised fashion and led early on through tidy defence and effective attacking play.

2nd Form 5 Academic Dialogue Session

πŸ“š School and parents come together to drive Form 5 academic excellence!

The 2nd Form 5 Academic Dialogue Session was held on 10 July 2026, involving the participation of parents, subject teachers and school administrators.

The session was organised to discuss the academic performance of Form 5 students and to strengthen cooperation between the school and parents in the effort to raise student excellence. It also fostered two-way communication so that any learning difficulties could be identified and addressed with intervention.

The session opened with a briefing by En. Nor Suhaime bin Sukirman, the school's Senior Assistant. He presented the students' overall achievement and performance by subject, and identified strengths and weaknesses that need attention.

Learning Visit by Year 6 Pupils of SK Putrajaya Presint 9(1) to SEMASHUR

πŸŽ’ 80 Year 6 pupils from SK Putrajaya Presint 9(1) drop by SEMASHUR for a learning visit!

On 9 July 2026, 80 Year 6 pupils from Sekolah Kebangsaan Putrajaya Presint 9(1) along with 10 accompanying teachers made a learning visit to SM Sains Hulu Selangor.

The programme opened with a briefing delivered by SEMASHUR's Senior Assistant for Student Affairs (PK HEM), Ustaz Mohd Fauzi bin Abdul Mutalib. The briefing gave the pupils an early introduction to the school's background, its learning system and life as a fully-residential school student.

The participants then watched the school's corporate video for a clearer picture of SEMASHUR's facilities and achievements. The programme continued with a "Jom Masuk SBP" sharing session run by the Peer Guides (PRS).

SEMASHUR Crowned Champion at Hulu Selangor District Poetry Recitation

District champion and a Best Impromptu Award on one virtual stage! 🎀

Congratulations to the SEMASHUR community! On 8 July 2026 (Wednesday), our school representatives took part in the Hulu Selangor District Poetry Recitation, held online via Google Meet.

Two participants flew the school's flag on this virtual stage: Hasya Insyirah binti Hamzah from class 3 Amal and Rabbiatul Sofiea bt. Mohd Rafaie.

Through their effort and convincing performances, SEMASHUR emerged as Champion of the competition. The achievement was made even sweeter when Hasya Insyirah binti Hamzah was also named the recipient of the Best Impromptu Award.

Birthday Celebration for April, May and June Students

πŸŽ‰ Cake, birthday songs and a lucky draw β€” April, May and June students celebrated with plenty of love!

The birthday celebration for students born in April, May and June was held successfully on 8 July 2026. This lively event was organised to appreciate and celebrate the students marking their birthdays.

Beyond celebrating their special day, the programme also aimed to strengthen the bonds among the school community and to nurture the values of affection and togetherness among the students.

A variety of engaging activities were carried out throughout the programme, including a birthday song singalong, cake-cutting, a lucky draw and the giving of cupcakes to everyone being celebrated. The cheerful mood was clear on the students' faces.

Leadership Workshop for Digital School Resource Centre Prefects 2026

PSS prefects sharpen their leadership skills to power up the School Resource Centre! πŸ“š

On 7 July 2026, three School Resource Centre Prefects of SM Sains Hulu Selangor took part in the Hulu Selangor District Digital School Resource Centre Management Prefect Leadership Workshop 2026. The workshop was held at the school's Resource Centre (PSS).

The participants representing the school were Aidil Mikail bin Annuar Jamaludin, Nur Syafiqah Amni binti Adek Ahmad and Marissa Adreanna binti Zuadi.

The workshop was held to enhance the knowledge and effectiveness of School Resource Centre Prefects in supporting the management of the School Resource Centre.

SPM 2026 Target Briefing

One number held the whole hall's attention β€” 1.14. At Dewan Titiwangsa, the principal laid out a clear direction, subject-by-subject KPIs, and focused intervention strategies to carry Form 5 students confidently towards SPM 2026.

Monday afternoon, 6 July 2026 β€” Dewan Titiwangsa became the starting line for the final stretch towards SPM. At 12.30 noon sharp, all Form 5 students gathered for the SPM 2026 Target Briefing, delivered personally by the principal. 🎯

The message was clear from the outset β€” a firm direction, KPIs set for every subject, and a boost of motivation for SPM 2026. Previous SPM achievements were also analysed as a reference, so every target set stands on real data.

The number everyone left the hall remembering: 1.14 β€” the school's main GPS target. To get there, focused intervention strategies will be carried out according to each student's level, making sure no one is left behind on this journey.

UPSA/PPSA 2026 Academic Appreciation Ceremony

From the Best Subject Award to the Principal's Award β€” 253 students and 170 teachers were celebrated for their UPSA/PPSA 2026 excellence, with Ar Razi House stealing the spotlight in the House Point System.

Alhamdulillah! πŸŽ‰ A total of 253 SEMASHUR students and 170 teachers received award certificates across multiple categories at the 2026 Mid-Year Test/Assessment (UPSA/PPSA) Academic Appreciation Ceremony β€” well-earned recognition for their effort and dedication through the first half of the year.

In the student categories, 114 recipients took home the Best Subject Award, 75 received the GKMP Award as the best in their class, while 50 earned the Senior Assistant Award for placing among the top 10 in their form. Sweetest of all, 14 students qualified for the Principal's Award with a GP of 0-1.5 for Upper Secondary and 0-1.0 for Lower Secondary.

Our teachers were celebrated too β€” 170 of them received the Principal's Award in the Committee Category, recognised across Gold, Silver and Bronze tiers. The loudest cheer of the day went to Ar Razi House, which earned the highest points in the House Point System in conjunction with the ceremony. πŸ†

Maxis eKelas AI GEN Workshop 2026

Two days, four form levels, one mission: get to know generative AI from the inside out. SEMASHUR students learned to craft prompts using the P.A.K.A.R framework and ended up composing their own theme songs with SUNO AI.

A well-crafted prompt can turn into a song, a poem, or even a jersey design. That was the takeaway for SEMASHUR students during the Maxis eKelas AI GEN Workshop, held on 30 June and 1 July 2026 at the Access Centre and Library.

The programme was organised by the PPD Hulu Selangor Learning Sector together with SEMASHUR's Guru Peneraju Generasi Digital (GPGD), led by Cikgu Siti Nor Aisah binti Ramli and Cikgu Nur Hidayah binti Ahmad. The AI modules were delivered through the Maxis eKelas portal on the DELIMa platform.

On Tuesday, Form 4 students took the morning slots, followed by Form 1 in the afternoon for an introductory AI briefing and a hands-on session composing subject-themed songs with SUNO AI. On Wednesday, Form 3 and Form 2 stepped in for their own slots to work through the same modules.

Malaysian Red Crescent Basic First Aid Course, Hulu Selangor District 2026

A proud shout-out to Shahrin Dzulfiqar, named best male participant at the Malaysian Red Crescent Basic First Aid Course, Hulu Selangor District 2026! Four SEMASHUR members turned up at SMK Kalumpang to sharpen life-saving skills.

A full day of learning how to save lives β€” that was the mission for four SEMASHUR Red Crescent members on 27 June 2026.

The District-level Malaysian Red Crescent Basic First Aid Course 2026 ran at SMK Kalumpang from 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. SEMASHUR was represented by Mohamad A'sif Syahkirin bin Ariffin (4 Amal), Nur Humaira Husna binti Mohamad Azli (4 Amal), Nur Fatini Haifa binti Nor Fadli (3 Ehsan) and Shahrin Dzulfiqar bin Shahrul Fadley (3 Bakti).

Throughout the session, participants were trained in the fundamental first aid techniques that form the backbone of Red Crescent service β€” whether inside school or out in the wider community.

Selangor State Orang Asli Students Carnival β€” Poem Recitation Competition 2026

One SEMASHUR voice, one silver finish. Ammar Danish of 2 Jujur brought home First Runner-Up honours at the Selangor State Orang Asli Students Carnival Poem Recitation contest.

Bravo, Ammar Danish! πŸ₯ˆ On 25 June 2026, SEMASHUR joined the Selangor State Orang Asli Students Carnival at Dewan Komuniti Sungai Pelek β€” and our representative took to the stage with quiet confidence.

Ammar Danish Bin Abd Bahari of 2 Jujur went up against peers from across Selangor in the Poem Recitation contest. His rendition of 'The Language of Kindness: A Gift To The World' won the judges over with heartfelt delivery and crisp, expressive articulation.

The verdict? First Runner-Up at state level β€” another proud moment for the school. 🌟
