A golden hat-trick from Kota Kinabalu! 🏆 SEMASHUR's innovation contingent returned with three gold medals and two special awards from the Borneo International Innovation Creativity Competition 2026 (BIICC 2026).

The competition ran from 19 to 23 June 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre, Kota Kinabalu, organised by The Malaysia Young Scientist Organization (MySO). For five days, our students pitched their ideas before an international panel of judges.

Recycle Multi-Purpose Absorbent Paper took gold and was named Best Method Research Award for its rigorous research methodology. 🌱 Ecopeel Aromatics also earned gold along with the Best Environmental Award for tackling a real sustainability issue. The third product, Yammy-Seal, completed the contingent's gold hat-trick.
